Seth has been called!

The Call came yesterday and we all gathered to open the large envelope at 5pm.  Many of the family were already here as the "Grandma Sandy Christmas Party" had just finished and the cousins were rowdy from the crafts and games and "bula-bula" that had been played.  We quieted everyone down and initiated the calls to all who were too far away to come.  Then Seth impatiently ripped open the envelope and with a bit of trembling read,
"Dear Elder Snow
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Mexico, Culiacan Mission.  It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months.
You should report to Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, April 20, 2011.  Prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language."

There was a tumult of joyous applause and whooping.  I think Grandpa Neil could be heard all around Gunnison as he hollered his approval.  He and his companion, Bruce Hale had started the Los Mochis area when he was on his mission more than 50 years ago and now Seth will serve in that area.  More than a few tears of gratitude and amazement were shed.  Seth seemed to be walking about 6 inches off the ground the rest of the night.  A few hours later Seth and I went to the Macy's one-day sale and picked up three new pairs of slacks toward the 6-10 that they recommend.    He only needs one suit.  Cool!   He is pretty excited that he will have warm weather the whole time.

Well,  I just want to thank all the wonderful family and friends that have helped us to teach and guide Seth as he grown and prepared for this very important part of his learning journey here on Earth.
